The book: Professional Negligence of Lawyers

Professional Negligence of Lawyers by Adv. Eli Halm was published by the Israel Bar Publishing House in 2017. It is the comprehensive Israeli treatment of the subject, written for practitioners on both sides of such claims.

What the book covers

The duty of care owed by a lawyer and the standards drawn from the case law. The acts and omissions that give rise to liability in each area of practice, from litigation and limitation periods to property transactions, wills and corporate work. The doctrine of the trial within a trial, and the doctrine of loss of a chance where the original outcome cannot be reconstructed. The duties owed to persons who are not clients. The liability of lawyers acting as office holders, such as receivers, liquidators and trustees. And professional indemnity insurance, including the basis on which a policy responds.
