Eli Halm Law Offices is a boutique practice in Tel Aviv. We appear before the Israeli courts in civil and commercial matters, and we have built a particular expertise in two related fields: professional negligence claims against lawyers, and disputes over lawyers' fees.
Admitted to the Israel Bar in 1999, licence number 25259. He studied law at the University of Haifa and at Reichman University. He is the author of two legal books: Professional Negligence of Lawyers, published by the Israel Bar Publishing House in 2017, and Privacy Protection Law, published by Perlstein Ginossar in 2003. He lectures in forums of the Israel Bar and publishes regularly, including a newsletter reporting new judgments in professional negligence and in fee disputes.
The firm is deliberately small. We take a limited number of matters and each one is handled by the lawyer who knows it, not passed down a line. A legal crisis is usually accompanied by uncertainty, whether the client is a plaintiff whose rights have been damaged or a defendant facing a substantial claim, and the work of a lawyer in those circumstances is not only technical.
Alongside Adv. Halm the firm includes Adv. Yonatan Levi, Adv. Udi Sadan and Adv. Idan Moldavsky.
For plaintiffs we generally work on a fixed payment combined with a percentage of the sum recovered. For defendants the work is usually on a fixed fee, and sometimes hourly. We rarely accept a matter on a pure contingency basis, and we tell clients openly that a pure percentage arrangement is usually more expensive for them in the end.
